Amardip Ghosh - @Jessica Barnes - Love your paintings. However the way the photographs are taken, it will be difficult to offer them for prints. One possibility is to use a free (but very powerful) tool like GIMP to do a perspective transform followed by some cropping. It is shown in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vvKu3
Amardip Ghosh - @Patricia Hilton - To delete any images, you can click on the cogwheel icon on the top menu. Then on the right hand column you will see 'Manage Uploads'. Click on that to find a list of your uploads with Edit, View and Delete options.
Amardip Ghosh - @Arkaprabha Pal - Welcome to PastelSpace. I see you carrying your camera in some of your pictures on Facebook. I would like to see what you see through your lenses. Are you interested in people or in nature or in objects ? Is there a connection between your training in history and your interest in photography ?
Arkaprabha Pal - Academic writing of history as of today does not have much mass appeal and as a consequence concocted histories are being promoted and endorsed which are having a destructive effect on the complex social fabric of South Asia. My attempt at documenting history through photographs would try to generate a mass appeal and secondly create a new form of discourse. This might be in frames of social movements, graffiti art, monuments, inscriptions, portraits of people from various ethnic groups and also in nature- its relationship with Man.
Arkaprabha Pal - @Amardip Ghosh The subject of history and the art of photography have conventionally converged in the hard evidences of archeology and architecture. My experiment with photography is to discover and narrate history by going beyond these hard evidences. Though an uphill task, I believe that many narratives about the past with a connection to the present can be found in the environment around us, the people around us and the cultures that they define. This, in addition to old temples and rock carvings could create a new form of documenting history through the language of the lens, breaking the barriers of rigid academic writing.
